St. Louis’s first city-county wide literacy initiative, Turn the Page STL.

Join us at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the steps of the Missouri History Museum (5700 Lindell Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri 63112) with Mayor Lyda Krewson and County Executive Steve Stenger as they congratulate Ready Readers on 20 yrs of service, announce the launch of the new city-county wide literacy initiative, Turn the Page STL, proclaim September 28 as “A St. Louis that Reads Together, Succeeds Together.”  For media, please park in the North Circle Drive of the Missouri History Museum near the fountain.

President of the Missouri History Museum, Dr. Frances Levine, will welcome all guests, followed by announcements and remarks by Mayor Lyda Krewson, St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger, and Lisa Greening, Executive Director of Ready Readers.  In addition, join the Nine PBS Kids characters, Curious George, Clifford, Arthur, Super Why, Peg + Cat, and DinoTrain – Buddy, as they celebrate with young children a love of reading.  The Nine Network is the official media sponsor of the event.

At 10:30 am, join the Nine Network characters and a bubble bus, as we drive to four early childhood centers (two in the City of St. Louis and 2 in St. Louis County) to share our love of reading and to give each child in that center a copy of Curious George, provided by the YMCA
